Amicalola Lodge

Just made it to the lodge in time for some wine on the balcony. Then heading back down to the poor people's campground at the bottom of the Mtn.

Made it to GA

We are in Georgia now. Travel logistics were awkward so we are kinda forced to get to Amicalola tonight then register for parking in the morn. Using this time in the car to attempt planning. At least we have the first leg figured out hopefully.

Becca Loo here, this is my first post written with blogger app from the passenger seat about to leave town.  Just realized we left clothes on the line at the house we just moved out from, oops good thing we haven't left yet.  Bubbling with excitement and so ready to go!

Packed

This is a test post from blogger app.

We got our storage unit loaded up and said goodbye to our house. Finishing up errands and we should be on the road in a few hours. No exact start time known. Just winging it.

Kinda like the way we packed our storage unit.

The anticipation is killing us!!

Halfway through March. About 15 days till we get to head to Amicalola Falls. The closer we get to leaving, the more pointless and frustrating each day in Austin seems. Particularly the days we spend at work. I guess we should be soaking in all the Austin experiences we can get, but the end is so near. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Why would we want to hang out in the dark? Not even SXSW is a great temptation. I mean, we are doing some of that stuff. And friends are in town and the weather is finally clearing up and its getting to be backyard BBQ season.

But every time I check the list of trail blogs somebody is posting their first reactions to their first week on the trail and I want to scream in excitement and grab Becca and just say "F* it, lets go NOOOOWWWW!!!

OK, calm down. We still have a lot of packing to do. We already lost our copy of the NOBO AT guide somehow, so we have to wait for the new one to get here. I guess we will just have to be happy with checking things off the to-do list, and it is still decently long after all.
