It was an easy 9 to town, when we came out of the woods and right onto a very busy street. Kinda weird and very abrupt. The HoJo was right by the trail, but we were too early to check in. So we went for some BBQ down the street with Perc and Howzit at 3 little pigs. Free banana pudding for thru hikers!
Back at the hotel, we found we were given a double despite only reserving a single, so we recruited perc and Howzit to be roomates, and eventually a hobbling Wizard asked to crash on the floor. So full house tonight.
We hitched to Wallyworld to get permethrin and a knee brace for wizard, and Howzit needed new shorts. Also Becca got a fleece blanket to replace her sleeping bag for the summer. $3 fleece > $200 summer bag. So while there we also did our groceries. I've let my more liberal ideals be compromised while hiking. It's hard enough finding good food and rides to be picky. I'll have to repent in october.
Back at the hojo we tried to do laundry, but failed miserably due to a dryer with no heat. They were still damp when I treated them with permethrin and We hung the clothes up overnight to dry, which never happened. Instead we had a batch of stinky mildew clothes and Becca was Pissed at me for letting them be too wet.
So now we have to do laundry again on top of the other things we need to finish tomorrow.
