Day 166: Rain and Magic

Rained all night and woke up to a misty morning. We only have 10 miles to do though because we have to get into andover for food and Becca's replacement pack.

20 minutes out of camp I scared a bull moose and it ran further down the trail. I stopped amd let Becca catch up and take the lead so she may get to see it, but no luck.

Hiking today was great. We. Old go our old pace and we o ly had one obstacle we expected, sawyer notch.  A sobo at the sheltwr said it was the steepest thing he'd done yet. So after this it's should all get easier!

The notch itself was not all bad. Our down was actually pleasant in comparison to others, but the up was.inded steep. But at least we were going up not down.

At our destination we planned.to camp at the road amd hitch into town, but this road is way out there. So maybe we should take the shuttle squirrel called up just to make sure we get into town.

Next thing we know a truck rolls.up with Yukon and pops. Hikers from 2012. Yukon lives in the area and wanted to do some trail magic. Dr pepper and pbr. It's like magic customized to my tastes.

Squirrel got picked.up ament later, but word was the hostel was full. Yukon offered us a place to stay with him. We also recruited two more nobos that have been around us, freedom fry and cooter.

So Yukon took us to a cabin and we got pizza and beer and watched a movie. Very nice. It's kinda hilarious that we haven't taken a shower here. We've only.hiked 20 miles since the last shower and just don't feel the need. Trail lyfe.
