We had a beautiful hike from the shelter into Erwin. Great views of the Nolichucky river on the way in from an exposed ridge.
Next stop was all you can eat pizza at Pizza Plus. A VERY nice guy in a truck threw us in the back and drove us the 2 miles into town from the trailhead. We got to the pizza place right when they opened and definitely got our money worth in food. I felt kinda bad only having to pay 7 bucks for this glorious buffet.
Next we walked to the hotel and got beers right next door at the gas station and proceeded to the just fixed hot tub.
We hung out with wizard and ordered delivery italian.
This all confirmed that this hotel is gonna be a great place to do our first real 0.
