We.were gonna attempt a 20 mile day. We came close. Easy terrain. Early start. But around mile 17 we entered the land of Riff Raff.
Like Rat Patrol, Riff Raff is a band of former thru hikers who met along the trail and gain more people each year. They had set up a tent city directly.on the trail in an open field. They welcomed us with wrist bands and cold.drinks. lots of cold drinks. We were obviously.not gonna leave this place.
So people had been stuck there for a day. Others were able to leave after a few. We are still in vacation mode, so we stayed the night. What a crazy crew. 22 miles or so to damascus.
