We almost made it to the top of Roan Mtn before the rain started. SWard scurried up there faster than Bloo and I and was already at the shelter before the downpour. That basically summarizes the first half of the day.
We had a bit of food before heading out to cross the balds, crossing our fingers that the rain clouds coming right for us weren't filled with lightning. Fortunately it was just rain and we continued down to the shelter walking through the creek formerly known as a trail.
Also, bears not only shit in the woods, they also feel bad when they shit on the trail. Come on Bears! Haven't ya heard of LEAVE NO TRACE? !
