Day 98: Duncannon

Rough rocky hike and steep steps brought us the 10 miles into duncannon. As soon as we entered we saw a gas station advertising 2 hotdogs and a mtn dew for 2.50. We were on that train immediately.

Our plan was to check out the "historic" doyle hotel. Historic in this sense stands for a 110 yr old hotel that is completely run down, smells like a linoleum ashtray full of mold, and has a bar as the ground floor. Well, at least its kinda cheap and there is a shuttle to the grocery store.

The liquor laws in PA are antiquated and probably written by mormons. But in any case, the beer store only sold warm beer, and there ain't nowhere else to get beer besides bars, where surprisingly, you can buy beers to go. But these beers are not as cheap, yet cheaper than if you buy the beer for in bar consumption. Omg, whatevs, give us a sixer to go so we can sit on your balcony and watch this dilapidated building become even more dilapidated before our very eyes.

Then, we got a few more sixers, and friends came into town and we stayed up way too late. Hiker party on the deck. Becca and I retired while a group of hikers decided to visit the local strip clubs. Boy did they have good stories to tell in the morning. Good as in, "wow, I'm glad I did not go to the byob all nude strip club with y'all."
